Ise Country Club

Tamaki, Watarai District, Mie

Ise Country Club

Holes: 18 | Par: 72 | Length: 6958 y | Type: Semi Private
Course Designer: Seiichi Inoue

Designed by Seiichi Inoue, the Ise Course is considered to be the first course in Japan to use two greens per hole, which is still favoured by many clubs today. However, it measures almost the same distance over 18-holes regardless of which you green you are playing to.

Rolling across the natural terrain the course has subtle elevation changes throughout and some very nasty run off areas if you do not find the fairways. The course, ranked 19th in Japan is a good test of both mental and physical skill with the need for sensible shot making and at times power.

Measuring around 7000-yards from the backs Ise Golf is a tough layout. Narrow tree lined fairways, well-positioned bunkers and a course rating of 73.5, Ise Golf is certainly a players track, rather than one for beginners. Water comes into play on various holes, most notable 3 of the 4 par 3s.

The clubhouse is traditional in design and dress code with a blazar being required at all times, this may seem a little old-fashioned to many, but the Japanese love tradition and it adds to the character that the course has. Facilities are as you would expect with large locker rooms, shower rooms and a dining area where you can enjoy a formal meal or a more relaxed drink and snacks.
