  1. Arrive at Nagoya airport – Toba City

    • Arrival at Chubu International Airport. In the morning
    • Pick-up your rental car at the airport (Toyota recommended)
    • Depart for Toba City, Mie
    • Seafood BBQ Lunch at Ama Hut Hachiman
    • In the afternoon, visit Mikimoto Pearl Island – it is an excellent museum about pearls, pearl cultivation and Mikimoto Kokichi, the first person who succeeded in cultivating pearls
    • Mikimoto Pearl Island also offers hourly performances by female pearl divers, known as Ama (“sea women”), who have traditionally been planting and harvesting these oysters. FASCINATING!
    • After your memorable experience at Mikimoto, visit Ise Jingu (Grand Shrine), Japan’s most sacred shrine
    • Then enjoy your stroll around Okage-yokocho and Oharai-machi where you can find many shops and restaurants. You will enjoy your experience there!
